Chongli 168 is a highly renowned annual ultra-trail running race in China, boasting the largest participation in the country, with approximately 12,000 runners expected in 2025. It takes place in Chongli, China, host city of the 2022 Winter Olympics. The 70-kilometer race category starts from the Ski Jumping Centre.
The race routes wind through Chongli’s diverse landscapes, which include mountains, ancient Great Wall ruins, villages, and wind turbine farms. They are well-known for their significant elevation changes.
The event has attracted crucial support from global sports brands for many years. Most recently, in 2025, Nike ACG (All Conditions Gear) serves as the main sponsor, demonstrating its strategic investment in China’s outdoor sports market.
Beyond the flagship 168-kilometer distance, the race offers a variety of shorter options (e.g., 10km, 25km, 50km) to accommodate runners of different skill levels. The event has a strong reputation for its high organizational standards, including meticulous course marking, well-equipped aid stations (many located within ski resorts), robust safety measures, and overall management, ensuring a quality experience for all participants.
This year marks the inaugural hosting of the World Mountain Running World Cup (WMRA) in Chongli, with the Uphill 7km and Classic 21km loop races held in the preceding week.
Note that, volunteer photographers from Thailand will join this event.
